CASSADAGA HOTEL CLASS SCHEDULE WITH ANN MOURA


A Year And A Day -- A Course of Instruction in Green Witchcraft

7 - 9 PM at the historic Cassadaga Hotel Classroom in the Spiritualist community of Cassadaga, Florida. Books by Ann Moura, including the textbook, are available at the Gift Shop.

Class meets one Saturday every month from July 2011 to July 2012

Those who choose may conclude the course with a formal Initiation into Green Witchcraft facilitated by Ann Moura.
These classes may be taken as a whole for Initiation OR attended individually as each is a complete lesson:

CLASS 8 HOMEWORK

1. Read in Grimoire: pgs. 313-341.
2. If you have these, bring to next class: Tarot deck, pendulum, runes.

CLASS 7 HOMEWORK

1. Read in Grimoire: pgs. 298-299 up to “Herbal Tea Recipes”; pg. 312 “Tea Leaf Reading”; pgs. 310-312 “Symbolism For Divination”; look over pages 299-307.
2. Bring a tea cup & saucer to next class for tea leaf reading. Cup should have a straight rim, not a crenulated or wavy one so that it will set on the saucer neatly upside down. If no tea cup is available, a mug and dessert plate will also work.

CLASS 6 HOMEWORK

1. In Grimoire, read Spellcrafting Information, pgs. 194-195; Moon Information, pg. 254; Spell Casting Reminders, pgs. 255-260.
2. Look over the Lists of Correspondences, pgs. 196-206; 214-219; and 228-235. Review pgs. 221-228.
3. Gather the items you need to create a desired spell: know the purpose and intent; match the items selected to the purpose; bring these items to class and be ready to discuss what you chose and what you are attempting to achieve.
4. Activation of your spell will take place in class on January 21st, so match your spell with the moon phase (Waning).

CLASS 5 HOMEWORK

1. In Grimoire, read pages 221-228 Herbal Listings
2. Create a charm bag: Know the purpose & think on the intent during construction; Match the cloth color & ingredients to the purpose; Bring the finished product to class to briefly talk about it
3. You may browse pages 230-233 List of Stones and Crystals if you want to add a stone to the charm bag.
4. Charm bag will be consecrated in class -- be prepared to state the purpose, pass it through the symbols of the Elementals, place it on the pentacle, and invoke blessing of the Goddess and the God.

CLASS 4 HOMEWORK

1. In Grimoire, read pages 20-23; 24
What kind of symbolic items can be used for the Goddess? The God?
What items would you like to have on your personal altar and/or shrine?
How would you use your shrine? Altar?
2. Read pages 42; 43-47; 48-65
What type of Circle Casting do you feel most comfortable with?
When would the Dark Power Circle Casting be used?
3. Practice casting & opening the Circle; work at envisioning the boundary & light
4. Create your personal altar or shrine
For Next Class: Herbs, Oils, and Incense:
1. bring to next class a bottle of saffron oil
2. bring a cup-size bunch of one kind of fresh herb or flower that you would like to make into an oil
3. bring 3 medium size dark glass bottles with lids
4. bring a mortar & pestle -- we will be grinding dry herbs that I bring to class

CLASS 3 HOMEWORK

1. If you missed this class and want to keep up, or if you just want to refresh your memory:
a. In Grimoire, read pages 174 and 179-181 on Meditation.
b. Review pages 149 - 154 on crystal cleansing and consecration. Remember to check if your stone (such as selenite) is sensitive to water or salt. If so, substitute dirt, ground burdock, or dandelion root for salt, and moonlight or an amethyst bed for water.
c. Read pages 327-329 for information on Black Mirrors and Crystal Ball scrying.

2. Read pages 255 - 260 up to Daily Blessing.
3. Browse pages 230 - 233.
4. Read page 234.
5. Find a suitable Grounding Stone and consecrate it for your use.
6. Look for crystals or stones that help you focus on the Elementals. These may be set on your altar or at the Quarters of your Circle.
7. Work at meditation to relax, answer questions, or solve problems.
8. Bring an Altar item or Circle item to the next class.

CLASS 2 HOMEWORK

1. In Grimoire, read Goal or Purpose of Magic and Moving Energy section on pages 255-260; read Magical Pointers on page 24; read Craft Terms on pages 27-39.
2. Jot down any questions arising from your reading for class discussion.
3a. Practice drawing up energy to create a ball of energy you hold in your hands;
3b. Focus on an intent [good fortune, prosperity, good health, cleansing negativity, etc.] and release the ball to the Universe for fulfillment.
3c. State in your notebook how this exercise went for you. Review this in 1 week and jot down any additional information/results/questions, etc.
4. Create your own Daily Blessing and recite it before you start your day.
5. Develop your own shielding with imagery that you find relevant.
6. Practice shielding yourself, practice shielding your transportation
7. Practice cleansing your aura & jot down in your notebook feelings/sensations before & after.
8. Pick a tree, plant, animal, or use your mirror image & try to see the aura. State in notebook any colors or impressions.

CLASS 1 HOMEWORK

1. In Grimoire, read pages 4-22 only up to Basic Altar Arrangement; Read Elementals information on pages 198-199.
2. Note any questions arising from your reading for class discussion.
3. Draft a list of your personal spiritual feelings of how you see [or do not see] yourself connected to Nature and the Divine.
4. State which style [or styles] of practice appeal to you most and why.
5. State how you interpret each of the Rules and why.
6. Practice Grounding & Centering.
7. With pencil & paper nearby, meditate when you are able to get some time alone--before you enter the meditation stage, ask “What is a good Craft Name for me?” Write down the result of that meditation.
8. List what tools you feel drawn to have in your practice of the Craft; check off which ones you already have.
9. List the deity images that resonate for you and state what it is about these that draw you.
